Description
Zurich, 1916. En plena guerra mundial, las oscuras callejuelas y ruidosos tugurios de esta ciudad suiza acogen a una nutrida flota de refugiados politicos, agentes secretos, jovenes objetores renuentes a marchar al frente, artistas, literatos y poetas exiliados. Entre todos ellos, un grupo de amigos encabezados por el rumano Tristan Tzara da a conocer el movimiento Dada en una serie de manifiestos. Su lugar de reunion es el mitico cabaret Voltaire, en el numero 1 de la Spielgasse, frente al domicilio de Lenin y Krupskaia. Tzara, Arp y Shwitters, entre otros, juegan al ajedrez con el revolucionario ruso por la tarde, y por la noche se entregan a la rebelion espiritual contra una sociedad responsable de haber transformado Europa en una inmensa carniceria. Tal vez ningun otro movimiento espiritual haya pretendido renovar el arte y la literatura desde unos presupuestos tan radicales y subversivos como los que alientan en cada uno de estos siete manifiestos.
