Voda mu je veselo klokotala oko noznih prstiju, spirajuci crnilo visenedeljnog nepranja... Sagao se, i zahvativsi sakama hladnu penu talasica, ispljuskao se po golim grudima. Stresavsi se od iznenadne drhtavice, opet se sagao i sad je punio usta hladnom tecnoscu, prozdirao ju je halapljivo, a visak iz saka razbacivao po ramenima i ledjima... I to mu nije bilo dosta, nego je seo u sljunkovito korito i veslao rukama, gurajuci sa plitkom vodom i gomile belih, sivih i crvenih oblutaka sa dna. Osetio se oslobodjenim, i od odjednom osvojene slobode, dobio je zelju da vice! I vikao je sumske ptice, vikao je istocni vetar, vikao je svakog koga se setio, a onda, onda vise nije vikao, nego je samo vristao od radosti!
